Hello everyone! Long time no speak!
I have had a very busy few weeks and I have not had the time to sit down and write a post. And let me tell you, I have missed it.
I have been very much aware that by not posting regularly, my little space on the internet will be buried by the many many other amazing blogs that are out there.
So, a little life update. I have finished my work for my PGCert in Science Communication at Cambridge University. Once COVID restrictions had eased, I was lucky enough to be able to travel down to Cambridge for a week and meet the majority of my lovely course mates and have an intense study week, filled with lectures from some pretty amazing people involved in the world of science communication. We also had the opportunity to get involved in the practical side and get stuck in to film making, podcasting and journalism etc.
In our free time, we made sure to make the most of it and had several walks and dinners in Cambridge and in our accommodation. It was so good.
But with that intense week, came a lot of assignments! There was quite a bit to get done once I got back home.
As well as finishing my PGCert, I have decided to add another string to my bow and enrol on a PGCE course, which I am very excited to be starting.
I had also planned to introduce a series surrounding women in wildlife and conservation. Sadly, with COVID and other things, this had to be cancelled which was a bit of a blow. It highlighted to me the downside of trying to network in the scicomm/wildllife/social media world. It knocked my confidence to be honest and the shine came off my blog and social media channels. HOWEVER, I am picking myself up and dusting myself down to carry on doing what I love.
So that is why I haven’t been able to be posting as much as I would have liked. I do apologise, but I cannot wait to see what happens in my next adventure and I hope you will be with me along the way!

Welcome back! Congratulations on finishing the Cambridge course, which sounds amazing, and on enrolling on the PGCE – very best wishes for that! My philosophy is you can never stop learning, and it is always beneficial sometimes in ways you never envisaged. Looking forward to reading your future blogs! π
