Goodness me, this last week has been in utter turmoil since voting began! But I am still living in a little glowing bubble that 2020 has finally shown the world some good and Trump is out of the White House.
As I type, vote counting is still taking place, from what has been perhaps the most divisive election in America.
But 77 year old Biden and the now Vice President Kamala Harris (who becomes the first woman and person of colour to occupy the role (go on lass!)) will now be leading America and help forge a new and inclusive path for the rest of the world.
Especially in relation to the environment, this is a miracle. One of the first things Trump did at the beginning of his Presidency was to remove America from the Paris Agreement (an agreement to strengthen the Global response to climate change). Biden has vowed he will re-sign it and reverse the anti-science dogma that Trump liked to throw around to appeal to the oil based billionaire cronies.
So after a very long, scary, frustrating and eye opening 4 years, finally the world can move on from an American President leading by Twitter and led by ego.
Congratulations Joe Biden and Kamala Harris!
Here’s to brighter days ahead.
